Description | Dirt track, used probably only on September 18th 1964 for some races organized by the just-born Cairns Competition Car Club. The track was proposed and projected by the 79 years old former driver Lou Kinglsey. The design of the track was limited by contours of the land and it had only one straight: Lou felt wise to keep lap speeds down since none of prospective drivers had previous track experience. Construction of the track lasted eight weeks and it costed 1600 Australian Dollars. In order to bound the circuit, during the race a series of painted half tyres were placed around the track.
