VALLELUNGA
SORRY, SOME DATA ARE NOT TRANSLATED YET
Description Vallelunga was born as a horse track and its forst car race was held on December 1951 on a sandy oval track, in order to collect money for help people in Calabria. In following years there were horses, cars and motorbikes races.
In 1957 first paved track was projected by Piero Taruffi and built. More or less its layout eas the same as Club circuit still in use, but direction was anticlockwise and boxes were where now there are main tribune, outside the track. In 1961 International circuit costruction begun and it was inaugurated in 1963 with a Rome F.1 GP.
In 1967 it was sold to ACI (Automobil Club d’Italia), that made many works. Original horse rack was canceled, direction was changed to clockwise and pits where moved inside the track.
In 1985 some proposals were made for its lengthen, but they weren’t developed. In following years, some changes were made, but they are not drawn on these maps.

Vallelunga
Description When 1985 Rome F.1 GP that should have been on Eur street track was canceled, it was decided to use same money for trying to host a F.1 GP at Vallelunga in 1986. For this reason, the circuit should have been lengthened and modified according to F.1 requirements. New tribunes should have been built on the hill inside the tracj (#9 on my map). Besides, a new link between Curva Trincea and Curvone should have been built, in order to be able to use both Club circuit and Cimini section at the same time. The latter should have been used by CSAI Federal School. Inside the track, a rally circuit should have been built, to be used by CSAI Federal School as well. None of these proposals were developed, but on the following years some changes were made and they are not drawn on my maps.

Vallelunga
Description At beginning of 2004, a track lengthen was proposed, similar to one already proposed in 1985. Other corners are unchanged, but safety run off areas are improved at Cimini, Esse and Roma; besides at Trincea old guard rails are replaced by a sefer concrete wall. Finally, in 2004 nine new boxes should have been built, of course in the same area of boxes already in use.
Saturday August 27th 2005 finally extended track was inaugurated, with a layout quite similar to the one shown here
